Basic Rotary, Sierra and Basic Centac classes are the most commonly offered courses, however Ingersoll Rand may be able to create a custom training depending on the customer’s needs. The equipment used in these courses has been evaluated as Hazard Risk Category 2 (HRC-2). In accordance with NFPA 70E standards, HRC-2 rated equipment requires the following PPE for personnel working inside the arc flash boundary: Fire Retardant clothing (rated HRC-2 or 8 cal), rubber gloves + leather gloves, safety glasses, and hard hat with arc face shield.
Attendees must be wearing appropriate protective clothing as specified. For those traveling by air, we can provide a limited number of hard hats with arc face shields if required, rubber/leather gloves and safety glasses. If driving, please bring your own PPE.
Any student who fails to comply will not be allowed in the lab areas for any hands-on training portion of this class.
C302 Customer Basic Rotary Class
2020 Dates: November 16-18, 2020

Description: Designed for operation and maintenance personnel, this course focuses on contact-cooled rotary compressors 50hp+ (37kW+) and their control systems. The course covers the principles of air compressor systems, the components and accessories included in the rotary compressor system, maintenance and diagnostic procedures, and operation of the onboard controller. This course includes both classroom and hands-on lessons.
Agenda:
Day 1: Identification of compressors, overview of rotary compressor components, overview of air & oil flow circuits, rotary compressor operation
Day 2: Operation of the Xe-M Series of controllers, electrical schematic overview
Day 3: Maintenance and diagnostics, compressed air system accessories
C313 Customer Sierra Oil-Free Rotary Class
2020 Dates: November 18-20, 2020
Cost: $2,500 per person Duration: 3 days
Description: Designed for operations and maintenance personnel, this training program is designed to prepare attendees to properly maintain and service Ingersoll Rand “Oil-Free” air compressors. This course covers theoretical and practical, hands-on knowledge of the design and operation of equipment.
Agenda:
Day 1: Compressor overview and principles of operation, identification of compressor mechanical operation, overview of air & oil flow circuits
Day 2: Identification of electrical components, overview of electrical system, operation of the Xe-145M controller
Day 3: Major component replacement, motor servicing, maintenance and diagnostics, troubleshooting

Description: This course is designed to provide maintenance, engineering and operations personnel with an overview of the Centac centrifugal compressor.
Agenda:
Day 1: Principles of operation, airflow, hydraulic flow, identification of mechanical and electrical components, control panel with amperage software
Day 2: Routine service and maintenance, basic troubleshooting techniques
Day 3: Disassembly, assembly and calibration of rotor assemblies (type 1-2-3 & 6)

Requirements: Participants are responsibe for bringing laptop computers for the CMC Service Tools Software training. A minimum of one computer for every two people is required.
