Lubrication Pumps TR Series

Model: TRA, TRL, TRC, TRS

The Ingersoll Rand TR Series (Model TRA, TRL, TRC, TRS) represents an innovative approach to lubrication pumps, setting them apart from traditional models. These pumps are designed to integrate seamlessly with the equipment they lubricate, mounting directly onto a shaft that is part of the machinery. The TR Series eliminates the need for a separate body and shaft, featuring only the pumping elements and a cover. This smart design allows for a compact and cost-effective lubrication pump solution for OEM equipment.

Key Features:

  • Reversibility: The TR Series pumps possess the ability to reverse, ensuring consistent fluid delivery despite the direction of shaft rotation. This feature is particularly valuable in gearboxes and transmissions where the direction of the shaft may change.
  • Automatic Pressure Relief: A spring-loaded floating plate acts as a relief valve, functioning within a pressure range of 1.0 to 10 bar (14.7-147 psi). This safety feature prevents overpressure by increasing internal clearances, thereby halting the development of further pressure in the pump.
  • Compact Design: The pump's direct attachment to the existing shaft results in a minimal increase in length due to the torque ring and cover. In some configurations, the pump's porting can be integrated into the body of the equipment, which can negate the need for an additional cover.
  • Through-Shaft Lubrication: The pump's design allows for the discharge to be split within the cover, enabling flow to be directed up through the center of the shaft. This is particularly useful for lubricating crankshaft journal bearings and can be adjusted to provide full or partial flow in conjunction with the normal discharge port.

Operating Mechanism:

Within the TR Series, all pump parts are in motion except the cover and the idler carrier. The rotor assembly drives the idler gear, which interacts with the rotor gear, lacking one tooth in comparison, to produce the pumping action. The idler carrier is equipped with suction and discharge ports and is machined to allow a 180-degree rotation, keeping the ports' positions consistent with shaft rotation. The idler gear plays a crucial role in completing the pumping element, while the floating plate precisely centers the relief valve spring or plunger between the pump unit and the drive shaft.

Applications:

The Ingersoll Rand TR Series is specifically tailored for lubrication applications, particularly suitable for machinery where space efficiency and reliability are essential.
