Can I Install a Stationary, Reciprocating Air Compressor Outdoors?

The reciprocating air compressor models powered by an electrical motor are typically designed to be installed and used in a clean and dry, indoor environment.  

Unless your air compressor was built with components that were designed for outdoor use, do not install an electric motor compressor outdoors OR in an area that will expose the electrical components to rain, snow, or other sources of appreciable moisture.
