What Is Process Filtration?
Process filtration removes particles, microorganisms, oils, moisture, and other contaminants from the air, gas, or liquid that touches a manufacturing process or the final product itself.
It’s a different job than standard utility filtration in the compressor room. Process filtration sits closer to production, right where contamination risk is highest — in places like:
- Product filling and packaging lines
- Fermentation systems
- Tank vent filtration
- Process air and gas supply
- Sterile liquid processing
- Water treatment and purification
- Pharmaceutical manufacturing
- Semiconductor production
- Food and beverage processing
Done well, it keeps bacteria, fungi, spores, viruses, particles, and process impurities out of the final product entirely.
